You left out an important piece of the equation, what are you paying your driver? What does he/she have to say when asked why the truck is parked so much? I drive for my dad, he pays me hourly, I make good money, and dad still makes a lot even after paying me. Guarantee that if he wasn't making good money, the truck would be parked.
New to trucking, just purchased my first truck, advice please?

I was roped into this business by being led to believe that this was going to generate passive income. Not with the goal of being rich, cuz I know that's not going to happen. But generating extra money as a side hustle. So far it's just cost me money I am paying my truck payment and fuel costs out of my personal account. And my truck payment is my entire month salary at my job pretty much.Pamela1990 and pumpkinishere Thank this. -
I’d say it’s time to take your truck somewhere else. You haven’t answered the question about what you pay the driver. If you pay decent you can always find a driver. And still be able to make money too.

Sounds like you won’t last much longer at the rate you are going. First thing find a driver who your truck won’t be sitting for days. Then take your truck to a bigger carrier, Chinatown a member on here is someone to talk to about where to go.

What kinda low wage burger flipping job do you have that a truck payment is the entire payment? And who talked you into this boneheaded move?
Have you ever been in business before? 90% fail in 5 years. passive income is a ridiculous proposition outside stock market averages and established buisnesses
Got your hands on a 200k truck?

No I've never been in business. I went into business with a friend originally and went halves on a truck and he burned off in the truck basically and did not pay me for my initial investment. I have no legal recourse because he was my friend, so I didn't get a contract (dumb, i know)
Second try I went with my sister. Basically I've just spent all of my life savings on a pipe dream. ♀️
Some people are meant to make it & the rest of us are doomed to struggle & scrape i guess. Creator did not bless me with a business mind I supposestuckinthemud Thanks this. -
