Hanging up my pencil, getting out of the office and hitting the road! Spending the last 16 yrs in an office with no windows has made me a dull boy and I know there are plenty of adventures out there for me! :biggrin_2556:

Yes Sir(you said boy) I am no long timer in this but I gots a trip or two more then you! Welcome, If you will remember the day you got that shiny new 2 wheel bicycle, the one you have dreamed of then remember and look forward and look forward to the dAY WHEN THEY TAKE THE TRaining wheels(trainer/instructor etc) off your truck and away you go, Keep it safe at all cost, remember any man can go down a hill to fast ONCE but it takes a trucker driver properly trained to take an 80000 vehicle down it slowly and under control so when you get to the bottom and the shadow of a small child jumps out in front of you that you can quickly and safely bring you and that rig to a stop without burning up the brakes. The scenery out your new office window will continue to change, then shortly down the road you may want to keep that same look out that office window and get on a dedicated run, Just remember you will last in this industry as long as your record stays clean, remember the HR dept. heads lie to you and will put anything they want to on your DAC and it takes an act of Congress to get it off. Driver be well take care of yourself. We are all here to help you, if you have any questions feel free to ask the old timers they know what is gling on, Me my ears just dried and are beginning to come out a l;ittle, I won't be grown in this gig for several more years. Take Care Be Safe Driver welcome to Truckin!

Thanks for the tips starsonthewindow. Coincidentally, the first bicycle I rode without training wheels, I slipped off the peddles and racked myself! :biggrin_2555:

I thought I knew what I was getting into. I was wrong! Everything is constantly moving; everything is covered in a layer of dirt no matter how much I clean. I can't sleep right in a moving truck. My nerves are shot and when I'm on solid ground I still feel like I'm moving. Truckers are a much tougher breed of people than I will ever be and I was foolish to think that I could become one. This is the hardest thing I've ever done in my whole life and I can't wait till its over.

I've been thinking about that phantom. I'm thinking about working the Eagle Ford Shale instead of over the road. the pay may be lower, but they say i'll be home sleeping in my own bed.
