Enjoying the thread, my hubby is completing his first week with Schneider hopefully he will be home tomorrow for his restart. I am glad to see that many drivers are posting on here, I think it will help him to chat with others experiencing the same stuff as he is..Travel safe everyone.

My man is having one heck of a time with schneider but hopefully it will all work out.

He was actually on the truck with his trainer and they pulled him off saying the paper work wasn't straight so they want him to start all over agian.

It's this new system they have going on right now everyone is confused...

I suppose as long as they pay him it will be OK not sure at this point....:biggrin_2551:

The workflow system is definitely causing a lot of confusion. That's what my training engineer was on, and there are definitely some there. Sounds like the Legacy system was a lot more stable. Hoping the bugs get worked out ASAP

As a side note, I finally got around to updating my blog as to how the rest of Schneider training went.

The only trucking experience I had before SNI was 6 months with a tanker straight truck delivering fuel oil, white gas, kerosene, and gasoline. Definitely good experience, but doesn't much count when it comes to tractor trailer.

Did you go to school to get your Class A? Or did SNI accept your experience with a straight truck?

I went to school to get my class A but only for 5 days (40 hours), and that was good enough for them.

Hubby finally made it home last night after 2 weeks on the road. He has now been with Schneider solo for two weeks and what a learning experience it has been. He is on the old system, which sounds better then the new, but let me tell you it also has issues. He spends have his time chasing that empty trailer that he needs for his next pick up, never seems to be one where it is suppose to be..But he is home, relaxing for the his next adventure out..

dermetzgerei thank you for the posts and blogs. I'm about to make the committment to a private driving school here in the Twin Cities area (probably start in June) and will be looking for some training with a company following that.

It's a chore sorting out the opportunities to make a selection. I started by looking at SNI, then got sidetracked toward Prime because of the length of their training, then looked at Swift, then Roehl, then Crete (they won't take students unless they're out of certain schools, mostly community colleges and there are none in my area on their approved list). Now I'm back taking another look at SNI. There are a few noobies writing some good stuff here to help us wannabes out (yourself and Marcus come to mind).

I'm waiting until I finish driving a school bus for the local district this school year. The district probably wouldn't care if I just gave couple weeks notice but I'd prefer staying with them until early June since they gave me training and helped with the class B just a couple months ago. I like the organization and they're great to work for. Unfortunately it's only about 25 hrs a week during the school year.

My wife is our families bread winner with a very successful business getting Vets home mortgages in MN, WI, and ND. Lots of vet organizations here in MN refer to her and she does great work and makes a good living for us. Even though I'm 63 I'm healthy, adventurous and love life. Time to get busy.....!!!! Family is very supportive and we all know what it takes to make it work (time from home, lower starting pay, etc). Keep the posts/blogs coming. Very useful stuff for folks like me.

I just applied with SNI this morning, hopefully I can get in with them. I've been prehired by Stevens, CR England, Trans Am and Covenent.

I don't know how it works, but I would love to train in Charlotte.
