    Hello guys,
I just got my AZ licence. Very excited!
I've heard it's possible to get local job right away without going on long hauls.
I hope to find something part time 3-4 nights a week few hours a night anywhere between 10 pm to 12 noon.
    Any suggestions? Please help!

Thanks for reply. Kijiji- of course, looking all the time, but most of them ask 2+ years of experience. I go for one interview tomorrow for containers as well- got this lead from buddy in the industry.
I wish I can get couple more leads to work on.

Start looking into the 'temp agencies' and the 'manpower' type companies. Yes, many ads say 2+ yrs exp req'd, but visiting a placement agency in person shows them YOU ARE clean cut, professional, AND interested, etc etc. Labor agencies make their money off of us. Show them a marketable product and they will go (usually) the extra mile to find you a placement with a large fleet that can provide some OJT. Before you know it .......... you have 2 years OTR. Good luck.

So, here is what I did so far. I went to one agency today where they said right away they don't deal with new drivers at all and then I went to that serious company I mentioned before where they said they could hire me but if I get 6 months experience.
And they said my best bet would be to find some Owner Operator who does local delivery with Canada Carthage for Tim Hortons or major groceries where they need 2 people to unload. If I work with team under owner supervision then there is no increase on insurance and that's good way to start local.
I will now look for agencies who may know some OO looking for second driver.

I didn't look actively for the past few days, waiting for normal plastic licence to come in the mail. I have temporary paper one now.
I wonder how do they check experience? (I can pass company drive test if needed) It doesn't say anywhere on the licence. And I heard in cvor you get record only if you go through highway inspection station. If driving local and no tickets then cvor stays blank. Is it true?

Hello everybody. I am curious does it make sense to go for DZ truck to get AZ experience? Does it count for official AZ experience or just waste of time?:biggrin_2556:

Waste considering you can only pull empty trailers with a DZ
