Based on experience, I'd coast it out until the end (retirement or closing the doors). Use the time for a planning the back up plan. Research the plan. IMHO the best place for a broker 'in the patch' is as a fluid hauler. I'm sorry, is he a broker ? Or company driver ?
SLH does more then just the peddles. Those contracts won't end over night. There'll be notice. BUT be ready ! If you guys don't have a truck payment at stake, take yer time and plan yer moves.
He's a company driver. He does peddles because the work is guaranteed, the for hire work is so hit and miss in London, even more so when kellogs closes. We would stick it out, but our house is too small and we are in the buy a new house no job security, or sell move out west possibly with transfer, or find jobs when we get there. It's the old "rock and a hard place". But i really appreciate everybody here, this forum has been invaluable for information, and easing my nerves.
