Is it normal that a dealership ask owner to not be present at the time of a windshield change? Sounds fishy. They have a 3rd party guy they call and changes it. First it was he doesnt work well under pressure than the whole noone can be around because of insurance thing.

If it's in the shop, maybe, if it's outside, it's because they don't want you to know that they are paying the guy $50 labor to change the windshield while they charge you $500.
Container Hauler and RedForeman Thank this. -
Its in the dealership yard; paying paying less than $500 for it all. still would like to watch it get taken out and a new one put in
-
Then watch him do it or walk away.
A windshield company will come to you at any truck stop. That's why they are called a mobile service
The stealership is only going to mark up the price and put it on their invoice. Call a nationwide glass company. Their warranty is good nationwide
What kind of truck? If it's flat glass, anything over $150 is a ripoff. -
We cant watch, the dealership doesnt let us..did you read my post lol? 165$ for windshield 2013 truck

Windshield guy is going to steal your dirty pannies, but he'll replace them with his dirty pannies.

Sometimes the customer is the expert and starts instructing the professional. That's probably the reasoning. The job just takes longer to do in cases like that and it becomes a pita.
MJ1657 Thanks this. -
