If no one is gonna stand up for whats right, then I will. I am very hard worker and I don't just drive a tractor. I make boxes, I wrap furniture, Load them into a trailer and deliver all that stuff into a new house or apartment. I don't consider myself a "bad employee". I've never bump weights, never drive illegal, and I am always taking care of my helpers. This company's discrimination against Hispanic workers is another thread to be created.
This post is provide and inform the public, the people, corporates and businesses of this company's unethical and illegal business practices. This company has a history for letting a Class A driver smuggle cocaine, FYI. They profit millions of dirty money each year. What is it like working for this company? You might as well be a drug dealer because you will make dirty money and break the law at the same time. The company has about 1,000 employees and has warehouses located across the nation. Not a single employee is happy about the company's behavior towards them. Everyone in the company has a knife in each others throat, they are trying to get each other fired.
To the Corporates or Businesses: If you have an account with New World, I suggest you cancel it. Most of the time, the moves are corporate related. Meaning a corporate or business will pay for an employee to relocate. New World will try to get every penny they can get out of you if you are a corporate or business. There will be an "estimated" weight of the move, but you will pay more than what your supposed to pay. Drivers will bump the weights. Drivers will double, triple sticker a single box. The office people will always falsify information when you request it. Of course the employee or new employee you are paying to move will not care what the driver does because he/she is not paying for it, but you as a corporate or business is paying tons of money that your not suppose to. The Marx family who owns the company is always trying to find ways to make the job harder for the drivers. They are the ones that are letting drivers do illegal things. They are the reason why everyone in the company has a knife in each others throat.
Why you will go through a maze to fix your problem with New World: It takes a unique person to be a class A driver, have the energy to work and drive, and be dedicated to be a professional mover. Bumping weights guarantees the driver a $1,500-$2,500 paycheck. This gets them excited, it is an addiction. It only profits the driver a couple hundred bucks, but to the company it is hundreds of thousands of dollars, or millions. The company is always slow to respond and gives you vague or false information because they are too busy trying to protect these drivers.
Working as a Class A driver: You will load your own trailer, this is why its easy for drivers to bump the weights. You control whats going in and out of your trailer. The driver that trained me, will always put his car INSIDE the trailer and go get a heavy weight. It is physically and mentally demanding. Expect NO communication. A regular day is about 75% manual labor and 25% driving. You are responsible for every little thing, so they won't just let you sit on the truck. For every heavy piece or furniture, every driver MUST be at the bottom because you are responsible if it gets dropped. Most drivers will log, off duty when they are at the "warehouse, origin or destination". The only time they log something as on duty is if they are driving, getting fuel or getting weights. You will be forced to do "straight truck" work, which is either you moving someone in or out of a 3 story apartment with just one helper. Expect your paycheck to be ALWAYS messed up. If you ask payroll to fix it, they will try and find reasons not to pay you, so sometimes you will be working for free. You will have to work with the typical douche bag helper who will not listen to you. I've seen many good drivers lose their licenses because they let a helper bring drugs or alcohol into the truck. If you get injured, they will send you to a company proffered facility, and the company doctor will always find nothing wrong.
In act of good faith.

Why bother posting this here?
Some idiots will just ask if they hire felons and have automatic transmissions?
If they are actually transporting drugs, contact law enforcement. Ditto the drivers driving under the influence.pattyj Thanks this. -
I was a mover for united van lines (suddath) and all my sons before getting my class A, I also have plenty of family and friends in the moving buisness, alot of what you are talking about is actually common, how Long have you been a mover for? All my sons was talking about buying new world before I left. The fact is, working for a company like new world, you should already know most will be crooks and drug addicts or drinkers. However a company like united van lines or mayflower have a way better rep. But depending on how long you've been in the moving buisness you should already know that

One more thing, after being a mover for 5+ years, I will NEVER trust any moving company to move my stuff, the time I was I driver for all my sons better known as... "All my crackheads" I've never worked around more crooks, scam artists, junkies, in my whole life. That being said moving company's that aren't as big as mayflower, united, atlas, ect ect STAY AWAY FROM!

I was with this company for 5 years. They claim they are a "professional" company but its like going back to high school all over again. All the top bosses are basically children running the office. These guys are indeed scam artists and doing illegal things. The driver that trained me will spend $50 bucks on light weight tickets, either sliding the axles and going through the scale until he gets the right weight, or convince the cashier to write down the weight he wants. One time I helped another driver on his job, and this crook just unhooked his tractor and left to go somewhere. When he came back, the job was already done. He was like "sorry man I had to go meet someone". Thats when I suspected that he was either buying or selling drugs.
