Dedicated Truck Driver - Walmart | Up to $10,000 Sign-on Bonus | Up to $64,000 Per Year | Washington Court House, OH
It doesn't say paid cdl training in the title but if you look at the write up they do offer it with that account.
Those of us in Ohio are very fortunate to be at a sort of crossroads for the country. You'll never have to worry about work. We have it all. Schneider is one of the better training companies, where people actually put in time rather than flee at the earliest possible opportunity, like they do elsewhere. Check out the Courthouse Walmart gig. You'll probably never have to worry about weekend parking. Just commute an hour to and from work each week. Put in some time then go over to East Crescentville Rd. and apply at Dayton Freight, Old Dominion, Saia, or the Post Office. These are just a few examples of very good jobs all located in one small stretch of road. There are plenty of others all over the Queen City. Get to it!
Awesome, thanks again. I did look at their site and they do offer paid CDL dependent on location. I'll have to look further into it. That looks like an awesome opp, and I'm just within that hiring distance. Might as well apply and see what happens.
Definitely putting in for that Schneider job, thank you wasn't even aware of that. And the commute, twice a week is still less overall miles than my current commute. And yes, thats my end goal. Go in get the 1 to 3 years experience, see where I'm at and go from there. May end up loving what I start with and stay, may end up going with something more local. I'm just done fighting what seems a never ending rat race that has too many opening spots at the bottom and not enough retired rats in the top tiers.
Thank you everyone for your input and suggestions. I've applied at Schneider and Carter at this point. Have to see what happens. Thanks again for the Schneider link, wasn't even aware of that. Guess my job search wasn't broad enough when looking for leads. Anyone have any experience with Planet Fitness regarding parking and potential overnight parking? The ones near me have large lots or part of a strip mall, and I know the one out in Florence KY is attached to the bus depot. Was thinking of getting a subscription for fitness and hygiene purposes.
Check out West Side Transport in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They have a terminal in Columbus and a secure drop yard just north of you at Monroe, Ohio. For their OTR jobs, you would have a $900 per week pay commitment to start. Training pays $70.00 per day.
When your ready to start training with them, and choose wisely don't fall for there amazing promises there simply out there to get you in ask them what their driver turn over rate is? A high rate is not good, or any negative reaction to the question would raise alarm bells.
