when you have such a big company with huge turnover it is just what happens, there are people that have been there for years and still love it, remember a good comment may never be re heard but a bad one will be repeated over and over and over....

as far as money you should beable to make 500-800 a week fairly easy but it all depends on your willingness to run and your dispatcher...

i would avoid crst as they are teams only and i havn't talked to one of them that is happy to be there just my .02

Go out to the pipeline off of Las Vegas Blvd on Sloan ave and ask around for Jim Gentry. If he's still there tell him an old ARCO friend sent you and ask all the questions you have. Cox hauls mostly in town and pays by the hour plus they require experience. Tell me what happens if you see Jim and I may be able to help more.

    hi gashauler!
i went out to where you said... just got back... and there are about 4 or 5 companies out there... none said cox... do you know the name of the place? 3 of them wouldn't give me access to enter since i was not employed by them... the other too did not have a gentlemen by the name of your friend there... so i think it might be one of the other 3...

It's been awhile since I've been there so I don't know what happened. I suspect one of the companies you got into was Fredrickson Tank Lines. They should be able to help you with information on where to go. They are also a company that gives new drivers a chance. You can try over on W. Carey ave between Nellis and Lamb, there's a couple of companies that use that area to run their operations.

It's a very tough business to get into when you don't know anyone. But you know where they all load from so you can watch and see which companies are local and which ones go north. If they are super tankers then there's a very good chance there are heading north going to Utah. Watch for the information on the doors of the cab. That will list what company it is and you can go from there. Also watch for drivers dropping at the stations. Approach them with caution and let them know you're looking to get into the business. I used to talk to drivers all the time but just make sure you don't get in their way. Keep trying, I promise it will be worth it if you get on. You have good chances ( if not better than OTR) to move up and get great pay and benefits. But just like anywhere else you've got to go after it. Keep me posted.
