Newbie going with Crete

    After researching on here, and talking with a couple Crete drivers, I sent an app in to Crete, and got a call earlier today saying I was approved. I just got my cdl yesturday, and have an orientation date for the 28th of this month at the Knoxville terminal. Hopefully everything will go well there and I will go out with a trainer shortly after that. Thanks to all the info on from all of you, and I can't wait to see what happens.

    Good Luck Jeeper! I joined Crete about 2 1/2 years ago as a student and have been very pleased. It is definitely a lifestyle change. Keep us posted with your progress.:biggrin_25519:

    Thanks, good to hear you're happy with them. I will try to post when I can during training. They said they will try to get me home for a few days half way through training. So probably then. I don't have any kids or a wife, so the change won't be too bad. Just wanna see the country and make a little money while doing it.

    As far as seeing the country, you'll see the interstates and distribution centers of the country. You can make time to see some sights while on your breaks, but that is really limited. But you will definitely get to know some areas well. It makes it a little easier when you are in areas more and are at least a little familiar with where you are. You will remember places you can get to for supplies or entertainment also.

    I hear ya, and I'm not really big on seeing the "sights" anyway. Checking some out here and there is alright, but I usually just walk up, look for a minute and move on.
