Did my physical , road test and drug screen.......thankfully everything went fine....so i should be with my trainer later this week.....while I wait...crete put me up in a private room at a nice hotel.....and let me use a company car to drive from terminal to motel and back.....so far I feel I made the best choice going with Crete....no complaints from me at all about Crete...

I have been with Crete for 3 months now... and everything they said, they delivered on.... Not many truckdrivers can say that about their carrier. I came from CDL School, and have kept up with the other classmates who went elsewhere. From comparing notes, I have had the best training (8weeks) and the best trainers. The equipment is well maintained, even the oldest trailers... My only issue is that my passing skills are really rusty... We are governed at 62MPH, and in three months, I can count on one hand the number of other truckers I have passed, (Prime excepted) However, the 62mph doesn't seem to effect the paycheck or the miles, and hanging out at the TA or Pilot gets pretty boring anyway. A day at 62 vs 65 means the 65mph'ers get an extra 30 minutes at the truckstop, at most.

Dead end job? HELLO!! Maybe today you are a trucker. But you could become a trainer, you could drink the Kool-aid and become a dispatcher, go into management from there... Or you could become an owner/operator, get a second truck, a third, and pretty soon you would have your own fleet of trucks working for you. It's all how you want to look at it...

I love this job. Very low stress, very low touch management. Get your load picked up on time/deliver your load on time, get your check. Everything else, as long as it's safe and legal, is your call. Most days, I feel like its stealing because all I do is drive my truck, see beautiful scenery, and listen to my 44gig I tunes catalog. That's work?

Yeah, grocery warehouses are a pain, but it's not that often and it's over. And Crete does em because they keep you moving and get you to a better load. Besides, we do a lot of drop/hooks to make up for it.

My first three months, I didn't even hear from my boss. Still don't, unless I call. Compare that to an office job where your boss is your face everyday, and uses you as his personal whipping boy when he has a bad day...

If you have a years experience, there shouldn't be additional training. Maybe just for logs, not sure. Can't remember about orientation, but it is paid. Was thinking it was 3 days, but can't remember for sure.
