Hey TD, I used to drive for Covenant, if you do a forum search you will find a lot posted here about them (and almost all of it is true, the good and bad).
My advice is if you do go with Covenant (or Werner) stay there at least 2 years, before looking elsewhere; that will increase your employability and help your tickets get older.

Hey Wally,
A friend of my Wife's uncle drives fo Wal-mart I heard they are a good outfit to work for, whats your take? -
I use to work at walmart 1st night receiving unloading trucks running the back room then in loss prevention. Walmart always took great care of their drivers and they made great money.

I can attest to the reefer...out of driving hours (cadec) I work for Sygma..
I was told at the Hotel I could park in the back lot. At 4am I was woken up by hotel management, that my reefer made to much noise I had to move out of their parking lot.
I was out of drive time, (cadec) VIOLATION ..it's aways something. -
Have to disagree about tanker loads being light. I've never hauled less than 51,000 pounds in a tanker and hauled as much as 59,000 of un32 in an aluminum smooth bore and a daycab legal. The people I deal with can be as irritating as any and I've often had the displeasure of waiting up to 3 days to unload myself. It is also not real difficult to get hurt or killed loading and unloading a tanker as there is little margin for error. There are also many varieties of tanker work and all are different so what I do won't be the same as what a fuel hauler does or a food grade does.
