Newbie here

Think about this for a second.
The true unemployment rate in this country is around 20%...which means there's ALOT of folks looking for work right now.
And yet, here you have an industry with so many open positions that not only will they sponsor you, but you will have a job upon graduation even tho you have 0 verifiable miles under your belt.

Business is slow right now, so it's not like these companies are adding trucks to keep up with rising demand.
It's that they have to constantly replace people who quit.

Why do so many people quit?
You will find this out soon enough...

 

Truckdriving is great. Easy, i get to see the country while blasting the tunes. So why are the companys giving these jobs away. They train you, pay for it, and tell you 40000$ a year and more.

You will be away for 8-10 weeks while your in training, you will get payed 350$ week on average to train. Thats just the start. This is what most companys that pay for training and that will hire you will give you. This is a lifestyle, not just a easy way to make a living.

Read though this forum for a while, not all is correct, but you can get a better idea about this lifestyle change you think you want. Iam not trying to be the bad guy, just think it out, talk to some new drivers that have made it over the first year mark. Not as many as you think.

 

I'm going the community college route as well.
It certainly helps that it's in the same town that I live, but it was always the better choice.
