Hi, everyone. I'm just getting started in the trucking industry and I'm wondering where independent drivers source most of their loads from. Are folks mostly living from load to load via load boards? Are you able to get steady gigs running routes back and forth maybe for a particular shipper or broker?

    I'm looking forward to learning.

Welcome to the site. Check out the forums in the Owner-Operators section:

    http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/owner-operators/

The owner-operators and small fleet owners here are the best in the business and reading over those forums will give you an idea of how they operate. If you have specific questions that you can't find the answers to by reading or with a search, just post a question for them and they'll be glad to help you out.
