See, that is the problem with having a lot of business with the big steel companies...they don't care how you get it done, and aren't going to help you.
They have regulations. -
that must be why alot of the steel haulers are using curtain vans??

Does flatbed pay more?
What do flattbedders fresh out of school get? -

actually I do pull a drop deck now puppy, now why don't you do us all a favor now and disappear back under your rock

No why in hell would I want to be a flatbedder when I can make the same amount or more money pulling a refer or van? It's not that most van drivers can't cut it,it's because van drivers are smarter
LOl just a kidding I have full respect for anyone who pulls a flatbed. BUt the money just was not there for me.

I am making $.37/mile. $25 tarp per stop.

i know most flatbed company's pay more than van and reefer and i don't think i have seen a van load pay on par with what i pull on flatbed for the same miles and time...
im sure there are a few but not the majority
and i don't have to deal with lumpers and my customers are happy to see me that is worth alot and i get unloaded and loaded quick -
Alcoa is starting to go to them...but our company won't change.
