which of those three sound the best to you?forget the ten hour course no company will accept that as schooling.if you can wait till March. I would take that school then you can pick and choose what carrier you would like to drive for.otherwise to with swift but keep in mind you'll have to sign a year contract.

Have you talked to the school and asked what companies come in and talk to the students?

Don't even think about the 10hr school unless you want to work for FBF

So get pricing and aslo ask those questions. First thing you should do is go to a DMV center and get the books. Read the stuff, you won't get any of it, but keep reading the book. Do that 3 times. Go to a Starbucks and read, read, and then do practice tests that you can find online. After you pass the written tests, that's when the DMV let's you take the course tests ..so yea.

Not necessarily. Prior to taking my CDL test I had less than 30 minutes behind the wheel of a tractor trailer and no formal instruction. I did have a ton of experience driving pickups with 30-40' goosenecks as well as driving Class 6 non CDL straight trucks but I had never even sat in the drivers seat of a tractor trailer until the day I took my test. I did a 30 minute test run the morning before the test and then took it. I got a 92/100 on the road test. As far as the written tests go I picked up the book from the DMV and started reading it that night and finished the next morning and then that afternoon I took and passed all the tests. I certainly am not suggesting this is the best way but it is possible.

That being said I did this to drive my own trucks which I have two of now. If you are looking to work for someone else I think they have requirements on certain hours of instruction, etc.

The guy at the school insist that his 8 or 10 hour course (I forgot the exact length) is all I need and he also said its guaranteed because they will keep training me until I pass and the rest of my necessary traiining would be with a partner wherever I get hired for 4-6 weeks. Makes sense in theory, no?

Sounds like it prepares you for further extensive training.
