No, most major carriers that take graduates want to see as a MINIMUM 160 hours of training for a school. This guy is trying to swindle you. You may be able to pass and get a Class A, but everyone will (rightly) treat you as if you got it out of a cracker jack box. Go to the local community college or bite the bullet and sign on with a mega carrier and keep your nose clean for a year to 18 months. That will open a great many more doors in the industry than the scam artist ever could.

That instructor isn't going to say anything bad about his course.remember he's trying to make money not lose it.all starter companies require so many hours with a school otherwise you'll have to retake the course or a refresher I don't know how that works.if your considering this course I would call knight and ask them if they honor a ten hour course as a school.

No way I would do the 10hr course because as said above most companies want way more hours then 10. At worst you could do swift and stay the required time and then move on. You could check into Prime also but not sure if they are hiring out of that area. I know they will pay for the travel to Springfield, MO, pay for your room and feed you 3 meals a day. Only out of pockets is about $200 and $100 of that is an admin fee and like $35 for your permit and then I think $70 for your Class A after passing the test.

I called Roadmaster and I like what I'm hearing, except for the price. . 2 grand more than Swift but I don't care. It's a 3 - 4 week (160 hour) program and I'll get hired right away. The tech school I was considering wouldn't start until March and is 9 weeks. I will be done with Roadmaster before the tech school even starts plus the training is comparable.

Werner bought them iirc but idk if they recruit that far south. If you go with werner I'd get on the horn to driver placement or check the employee portal to see what divisions are in your area. I can't imagine it'll be easy to get home living that far into FL.
