I used to drive a lowbed with abnormal loads.
I now own some trucks and don't drive much anymore.
If I could make a decent living driving I possibly would but you know how it is.
We don't do much(we do some) general transport but rather specialist loads.
We are mainly doing loads in to the DRC at the moment but regularly go to Angola , Tanzania and have even been to the Central African Republic , Ethiopia and Somalia.
That is a long way from Cape town and is a real adventure.
We have worked in all the countries south of the equator and a few north of it.
Sometimes our trucks are flown in in IL76 aircraft then we move cargo from the air ports in to the Jungles/Deserts.
Sometimes we load them on barges and beach land them and work from there.
Some places you cant get by road.
We have made deliveries and just abandoned trucks at delivery points because it is cheaper then bringing them back.
Can pay well but there is a lot of risk.
