You asked, he answered, would you rather he lied and said "it's all good"?

Hey man, with that kinda record even Paki Trucking outa TO is gonna think twice about you. Truth is, at present you're "bottom of the barrel" and that's who'll hire you. Nuh-uh, I don't want to see that happen to you 'cause that don't lead nowhere but down for you.

I suggest this (seriously); find a manufacturing outfit that has it's own truck fleet. Hire on warehouse/dock and tell them you want to "work your way up" to driver because of your crappy record (above all be honest with them). Get off the drugs period, work your ask off and keep your nose clean. Gotta quit being a ####### if you want the grownups to take you serious. This way will work but it'll take awhile. The only question is how serious are you?

My renewal is every 4 years. It may be different in your state. If I were you I'd go the crane route. You'd start as a oiler then after you learn the crane inside out you might be able to move up. However, once you're up to operator you'd make alot of money if the job is steady.

I'll take your advice if my job search goes miserable, definitely. I've already stopped smoking, and will keep it that way from now on. I'm very serious about wanting to drive trucks, and will do what it takes to come correct..

    Thanks for the input

If you run Canada, and Canada only, you'll never be drug tested. You're only tested if you run south. If you want to keep having a reefer on your days off, try to find somewhere that will take you on doing flatbeds, and will train you for Super-Bs.

As for the renewal, why not ask MTO, or go to their site to find out?

When I went for mine, it was about 4 weeks from sending papers to getting called for interview. IF everything with the interview checks out, about 5-10 days afterwards, you get the card.

50$ to apply, non-refundable. Meaning have all your ducks in a row before applying. They want to know your employment history and address history (the one that appears on your driver's license and other documentation) for the previous 5 years. It's good for 5 years before requiring renewal.

You will also need to notify them of any change of address or employment status, and keep your passport (if applicable) and driver's license current. They'll know if you don't.

Oh, and about the drug thing: NEVER, EVER, EVER mention you did them!! EVER!!

Oh, and the renewal, it's every 5 years, just like a normal driver's license.
