newbie swift trainee

It is 240 hours, not 6 weeks. I was out closer to 9 weeks (2 months and a week). The 6 week thing is one of the many lies that Swift sells in the recruiting propaganda.

 

Not really a lie ... bureaucratic intertia. 2 years ago it was 6 weeks, then Swift changed to fixed hours . ... even at 240 hours, that could be as little 4 weeks or it could be more. Depends on a lot of factors.

 

I drove locale for 5 months tanker so it would be 240 hrs before going solo.So are the mentors first come first serve.

 

My experience with Swift mentors is not good. I do not have a good thing to say about the Swift Mentor program.... And I am not alone.... Read others post on here....

I was in the Swift thing for 3 months.... It took me awhile to form my opinion... After seeing the way they treat drivers, the bad pay, bad home time and lies about other issues, I decided I did not want any part of them.

 

yeah I'm just looking to get the OTR I need then I could search for something better.

 

swift = .25cpm x 2500 miles = $625 gross - $125 FICA - $65 School Pay Back - $45 Insurance = $390 per week bring home - $70 on road expenses = $320 per week for family
