Just finished my 240, doing my release to Solo tomorrow. So I got told by a driver they won't release student drivers to solo? My mentor was way cool told me not to believe the hype. Anyone know what I should expect next. I'm in Atlanta told there was plenty of trucks available here when we were in Memphis...
Congrats on finishing your training.I have heard by many they've had to wait for trks. They got sent home and waited 2 weeks or longer.Hopefully you get a trk tomorrow.
Yeah I heard that too, but Only from truck poor terminals... We asked beforehand if Atlanta had trucks and fleet manager in Memphis said yes... I know Lathrop there's a wait and Florida has no trucks at all.
My mentor is great. He is a Diamond level driver that has been with Swift for 16 yrs. This is day 8 and I am on track to finish in 31. I have 61.75 logged hours. The pay needs to be addressed, while it starts low it increases faster than others I have seen. Coded means you recieved your drivers code, thus you are at that point HIRED!
Yeah just got a call from a swift recruiter think i'll pass if they let you go for incomplete paperwork or not double clutching probably not a bad thing.
i am supposed to start my training today...i did orientation last week and i was coded and assigned a mentor...i have been up since 5 A.M. waiting on a phone call...it is now 2 P.M. and i still havent heard anything
I'm just getting started on my "journey"... Spoke to a recruiter (Riley) today, and got my application in. I've been doing a mad amount of research. I spoke to a recruiter from CRE when I first started looking into schools and was accepted right away for a class beginning 4-30. After reading the posts on this and other forums and doing a little digging online, I decided it was best for me to keep looking and see what other companies I could make contact with. Got a call tonight from the recruiter at CRE and let her know I wouldn't be attending the class, but I appreciated the call. She didn't seem amused, as if I had offended her by looking elsewhere. I am really hoping that Swift calls me back. If not I suppose I will have to go with Roadmaster in Dunn, NC or CFCC's Driver Training course. I've heard good things about both, but I really can't afford to put out the upfront $$ for either one. I want this so bad, one way or another, I will be out there on the road with all you guys and gals sooner or later. Keep up the great posts and keep your wheels rolling.
filmore....maybe u should have stuck with cr england....i havent even went to work with swift and i am already being lied too....i am calling KLLM first thing tomorrow morning
