Oil patch out in TX pays probably 70-80K a year. You will not be home much!

If I could talk my sweetie into a CDL we could get 1/2 a million running team in 5 years between us. That probably won't happen.

Your hair isn't supposed to be any longer than collar length but I have seen a few guys with a bit longer than the collar.

Most of the trucks have the eaton 10 speed auto shift but there are a few with clutches still out there. They are being phased out. These auto shifts are great. I was given a 2012 Volvo and it is sweet.

APU's are on most trucks and will be on all trucks sooner than later. They are very nice.

Private message me if you want more info. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

BTW, Averitt is a family owned company and most of the drivers I talk to are very happy even though some weeks have had slow miles. Normal this time of year. I have heard from a driver or two who hated it but that is very few and far between around here. Again, I am in the honeymoon phase but I did 2500 miles this week and was home by today at midday. Home every weekend and southeast midwest regional. Not a bad way to go. No NYC and no Canada.

You have the right mind frame, keep it up people going to laugh and make fun of you just because your truck and trailer say SWIFT. Just ignore them

Not worried about it. If they keep me running and allow me to support my family I could care less what anyone thinks.
