Gary here. Live in Grand Junction Colorado about 40 miles east of the Utah border just off I-70. Studying on line and in the CDL Driver Manual to get my permit before heading off to driving school. Where? There is the problem. Where to go? Company "free training"? Borrow some funds and do it on my own? Go to the company school that I want to work for(I think) or just the closest? Any input would be appreciated.

I even have thought about doing it on my own. Getting my permit and paying a school to just teach me the parking lot stuff and some OTR with them. I found a company that will do that for $90 per hour. I would hope I could learn the basics to pass the Road Skills Test and get the CDL. That would probably mean about $2000. But would anyone hire me and train me on their rigs then?

    Who knows? Input anyone? Thanks!
