This summer me and my brother plan to get our CDL's and go over the road as a team. I have three questions. 1. How do you split the driving hours ? 2. Which company is better for team drivers far as miles and cent per miles US Xpress or Schneider ?and 3. Does US Xpress and Schneider really give you between 5,000 and 6,000 miles or is just advertisement to get drivers. I've already spoke with these companies on phone and they sound better than a lot others. Thanks for reading this.

US Xpress is a better company for teams.
mje Thanks this. -
A few discussions exist here about splitting time but seems the best long-term option is two 12 hour "shifts" that remain constant .. perhaps 2:00am to 2:00pm and you'll have to decide who does what and stick with it so you can both adjust to the schedule.
I'd say either one of those will run you about the same miles as long as you can get on their "team boards" and maintain a perfect performance record and keep your visits to home as minimal as possible. But if you live at either end of a good lane, home time and great miles are certainly mutually possible.mje Thanks this. -
Here are a few more team companies to look at. System Transport advertises .50 cpm split.

Usually the trucking company has someone in their employ that ran those miles advertised at some time but they don't think of that as a requirement to meet their advertising standards. And as a ball park figure you will drive at least 10% more miles than they will give you to deliver the load. You might as well consider that as your tithe to the trucking demons. They are more strict about you paying that tithe than your average church.
