Yeah I agree the only time swift will send you the bill for something is if you wreck something on the truck at your own fault. Or neglect something that needs to be serviced. But they arent gonna make you pay for a tranny for floating gears! Do you know how many of us float them? Probably just guessing here but 3/4 of the fleet floats gears.

Absolutely. I mean if you have cigarette burns all over the interior, they may make you pay for something like that. If you wreck the truck in any way and don't file a claim with the claims folk, you would be on the hook for the damage most likely. But if you file a claim with them, with an accident report they won't bill you. They may fire you, but they won't charge you as long as you play by the rules.
This is why they give you that list to mark any current damage on a truck when they issue one to you. When you turn that truck in, if the damage isn't accounted for on that list and there are no claims filed, you'll be getting the bill possibly or walking papers lol. -
Tranny failure my ##!#,if you cant float you need to learn how,if you wana get it in traffic, real drivers float em,if you listen to your engine it will be smoother than if you do use that cottenpicken thing,as for the newbe dont lie about drugtests on your last jobs,if you refused a test they will find out, also convictions same thing, point is dont hide anything, they will still hire you, good luck. IM OUT Lost DUTCHMANoldcornbinder Thanks this.

Hey hang in there. I got to admit I like to crack on swift as well. Don't let people get to you. We all started at one point. Nothing against you or any other newbie starting out. After awhile of seeing all the swift moves I get nervous when I see a swift backing in beside me. They have caused me more grief than any other company. Anywhere from them pulling up to far in a rest area so I can't get out or when I try to park in the last spot in a rest area and one of them is about a foot into my spot. Have also got blocked in fuel islands when they hit other trucks coming out of the fuel island.
Again you work for a company that catches a lot of grief, but you have to learn just like everyone else does. -
thank you, i understand this, all people in the new classes know this as well, we, and the trainers are trying to change this, in the past some swift schools have just been passing people to get them in a truck, but they are alot stricter now, i went to the one in richmond,va, and they are nationally certified now and have to maintain that. the trainers and administrators there are very fare, but thourgh, but at the same time other drivers have to relize, swift is the biggest in the industry, and therefore with 24,000 trucks on the road daily, ofcourse more things are gonna happen, look at the numbers, but all the new swifties are trying to change the statistics, and hopefully gain some respect back that past drivers have distroyed.notarps4me and rswinnerton Thank this.

Yeah ive been driving with them for 5 months now and have been trying to give a better impression. Should see the look on some drivers faces in truck stops when your backing in, kinda scared at first but when I get it in there with one or two pull ups and straight and in my spot they kinda look dumbfounded. But ive also seen some swifties that make the rest of us look bad, mostly at shippers setting them selves up for a back into a dock all messed up and trying to hit stuff, if they would have set up better it would've been twice as easy for em. But what do I know, been out here for two years and still learn something new everyday, and everyonce in a while i help a new driver out and give advice(mostly swifties).

I help a lot of drivers out. I admit a lot of mavericks. Some newbies, some not I can spot the newbies and a lot of times a new mav will ask for help. I even help other flatbedders, but not limited to that. I help who I can, but some people you just can't help. I have helped swift get in holes, then come to find out there is 2 of them in the truck...
I had my wife with me last summer and we were just stopping for fast showers and there was no place to park. Back in the very back a swift told me there was no parking. I said yeah I see that we were just gonna shower and run. He was the last on the end and said well park right in front of me I am here doing a restart. So we blocked him in and grabbed a fast shower and booked. Swift has good drivers as well.
