Yeah, Johnny and I are trying to improve Swift's image... One newbie at a time. Actually, having attended Swift School, I can vouch that they do emphisize safety and will work with you if you're not getting something. I was having trouble with the 45 back, and by the end of the week, I was nailing it every time! Just passed my road test yesterday and only lost 2 points! I know Johnny did well too, and we'll both be rolling down the big road in no time.

You will find out that once you actually get your CDL, your days of double clutching, or any clutching(unless you are stopped in order to get rolling again) for that matter will be over. You will learn to shift by both your ears and your RPM's

Nobody (or almost nobody) uses cabovers anymore.

You as a driver will not have to worry about maintenance records, when it is time for maintenance you should get a message saying so.

As far as Swift's Auto transporting-Im not 100% sure, but I beleive that they spun that off as a seperate company. They used to operate only on the East Coast, but they dont even advertise that part of the company anymore, so I think that they might have spun it off.

I dont know what school at swift you go to but whatever your instructors are telling you,but the ones I know told me they tell students after you finish your training get your truck drive how you want, mind you i know a *#*!load of trainers that tell me and have talked to new drivers that freak-out when they go down the road no matter how good they did in school. So take it from fellow swift drivers, there is a CDL world of cones and the real CDL world, talk to other drivers at the terminal they will help you and so and so will we at this forum. Before you say something make sure you know what your saying is correct so we Wallmart Supertruckers dont say WTF are you talking about?Hope to see ya out there, drive safe! IM OUT Lost Dutchman

hahahahahahahahaha, boy you guys shure are funny, wow i thought this was a trucker forum, not comedy central, you guys just need to give it a rest, with your hazeing b.s., you dont bother me at all, i know what i was told and that is what i stated on here about the double clucth crap, that is what they said to us at training, "it is against policy" that is what they told us, look up swifts f#$##$# number and ask them, this is not a rule i pulled out of my newbie brain, it was stated.

There are those who think Big truck truck drivers are sick individuals.
I think laughter is the best medicine.
All work and no play makes for a dull driver.
Ergo, I choose to be a
    baaadd man -------> :naka:
    Don't believe me?
    Just ask ANYone.
    It's twue!
    It's twue! :yes2557: :biggrin_25523:

Later, I'll tell you what my "normal" attire is.
Unless someone beats me to it. :biggrin_25525:

*(And for the record, I begat my drivin' career with Schneider.
I KNOW what hazin' is, too. And made me determined to prove 'em
    wrong. I think I succeeded.)*
