    hey guys newbie here and i dont have my cdl yet. im doing practice tests online. just thought id introduce myself. just wanting to do local stuff lol cant travel 700 miles all day lol.

    You can get your permit for free if you study the books on your own time. just pay the DMV fee. You can download a free copy of the driver manual for your state if you just google it. You'll see a PDF file. just save it to your computer and/or print it out.

    When looking for a good school ask around and use Google Maps "Trucking School" and look for anything in your area. Be sure to scruitinize them throughly and get advice from experts on how to find a good school, what to look for, accreditations, questions to ask the driving school, etc.

    Might be worth going to the forum for newbies to ask questions, and ask "What would you do differently were looking for a trucking school for the first time again." and see what answers you get.
