Mirrors on the truck are for the truck, the mirrors on the inside are for looking pretty. Personally, most prescription drugs are really no better then the illegal stuff, just one is legal and THAT makes them even more dangerous IMO.

Ha you thought that was funny! NOT! Actually I have pre-hire from any and just about all starter companies. So no, I'm not looking for a job. I'm curious just as others are here, to know who she worked for. If a company is sending new drivers out and they don't know what they are doing apparently thats a company I want to stay away from!

Thanks you the smart *** reply though! :biggrin_255:

if your worried about any of these big companies you have prehires from sending unqualified people out on the road you need to find something else to do. They all throw you into a truck then you learn. Trainers for the most part are a joke as is the schools. I didn't even realize what i didn't know till i got out here doing it by myself

I'm sorry newbie, next time I'll put on my sensitivity panties first....:biggrin_25526:.

Pre-hires don't mean much, nor does who this driver worked for. Her experience and yours will not be the same, unless of course, your her.

I remember my first time solo in an 18 wheeler (I had almost 14 years driving a class B truck before). I did a pickup at a cosmetics place near Roanoke Va. I could not do the setup as taught and proceeded to take around 30 minutes to get that dang truck into that door properly. Finally got it in but my tractor was at almost a 90 degree angle. I was holding several people up and the guy on the dock was sitting on his forklift I think smoking. As I went inside my cell phone rang, it was someone from upgrade asking me if I was OK. I told of the problem and all she asked me was did I hit anything. I said no she said that was the most important thing. That was in January 2011, I would love to go back there today just to see how long it would take me to get in the dock.

I might be wrong, but I doubt there is a correlation between dumb things newbees do and the company's they work for. A while back I saw a guy (not going to say the company) leave a Walmart DC with a trailer that belonged to another company. I just stood there watching the guy leave. About 20 minutes later I saw a yard Jockey pulling that same trailer back inside. After watching that I now know there is no telling what silly things people are capable of doing!
