your leaving out a feew simple details, you don't simply hire on at UPS and drive a semi, you start at the bottom and work your way up. I know guys with CDL A's and exp. who still had to start near the bottom and work their way up. It can take 10+ year to get to that $100K mark.

ups is definetly a 100k job, a friend of mine works there, the low man on the board still clears 80k there.

BUT, in the northeast, or in the buffalo area at least, there is nothing contractually forcing the company to add spots to the seniority list as business increases. so you have a fixed board with only so many bids. my friend got lucky, and got hired on right when a few guys retired, over 12 years ago. he told me that the guy that hired on after him, just within a few months from what i understand, is STILL ON THE CASUAL BOARD!! its still an ok job being a casual for ups, but it has to suck being on call without a bid for 12+ years!

thanks already gone, maybe Trckdrvr , will read your post, but he is hiding because he makes nothing driving a so called truck. Many UPS drivers make $100K. But first you have to start as a package handler, and work your way up, But for a yound kid, this is a great start, to a great retirement. Thanks

Some drivers have a wife, that makes Great MUNEY also. But read another drivers post here. He also knows for a fact that you can make $100K at UPS. If you and your wife both have great paying jobs, Yes you can own the $500K home, and The $37K p/u truck. WE DO. But Trckdrvr, you will never own one, because you dont care what you make, your not in it for the money, you just want to DWIVE A TWUCK. :biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559:

Well that is what he makes, And if you dont believe it tuff , I really dont care, or do I have to explain any more about what someone makes to you. You just have a real hard time believing drivers make Great money out here, and you make chump change. But I know for a fact, you`ll never amount to anything, because your plain out LAZY.:biggrin_2559:

How much experience do you need to be able to apply for the UPS job? What are the odds of you getting the job? What should you do to increase your odds? Do you need to know someone in the UPS for connections?
