what companies to avoid, what to look for in an employer, news that doesn't make the mainstream media, (the Arrow implosion, DEF Fluid, Ray "the Hood"s latest scams).
Also encouragement when I had to "serve time" at one of the big haulers.
(also the realization that if I act like an 'adult', I'll go farther in this biz as there are a lot of big babies floating around.)

I tell ya, if it weren`t for some of the one liners on here, it would be boring. I need that LOL, every day, heck, every moment. You guys are great to hear.
-
I learned that if you haven't been driving for at least 6 months you don't know nuttin' and somehow at 6 months you know everything.. does it hurt when that happens? My 6 months are almost up..
Wargames Thanks this. -
Crap, crap, crap!!! I didn't even get an honorable mention.
outerspacehillbilly and Wargames Thank this. -
I've learned where to ask and find answers to my questions and whom I should trust when seeking advise...
Wargames Thanks this. -
I learned to never ask a question here because you get a plethora of answers all from people who claim their response is right and the person who answered before is an idiot. I also learned some people can't take a joke and some people think their sh** don't stink.
I also learned Redd is a pretty cool guy but I've only heard his side of the story.outerspacehillbilly and Wargames Thank this. -
Thats the nature of a forum, anything flys, mostly. The ones that cant take a joke, sometimes you have to reply back to them, and say, "I was only joking driver", then they feel bad. Because they didn`t get it. For the most part, if a discussion goes bad, I still call them my friend, and will jump on another thread. If someone has a problem with me, well its there problem, not mine, I wont lose sleep over anything. Im here to have fun, learn, and sometimes teach, from past experience, which I have enough of. REDD, and someothers are great here. They keep the FUN in a forum, especially Trucking. Doesn`t get any better.

Not a newbie yet, but hoping to be one in about a year.
I've learned a lot of good information on the etiquette and technical stuff.
I've also learned that if you have any less than 25 years on the road you are useless and don't know what you're doing. *cough* -
I've learned that I have a lot to learn. Anytime a noob starts to get a big head have him/her go over to the o/o forum and read the information on what has to be done to become an o/o.

Dont think of yourself having a big head, its called a LOT of confidence. You have what it takes to become a great trucker, gravdigr. Dont lose that confidence, ever. There will be someone that will bring you down in those classes, but ignore them. You are extremely motivated to accomplish this, and Ill say it, Your going to make it.
