Your not offending anyone, however I would have to say that 99.9999% of the drivers out there want the same schedule as you do! I wouldn't get your hopes up on getting a local gig and being home all the time. It is vary rare! This is the reason most newbies quit within the first few months. For some reason they all believe the recruiters over the experienced drivers advice and get their hopes all worked up over false information. If you are attending driving school then plan on driving over the road for 6-8 weeks at a time with 2-3 days off. This is the norm in the industry and if for some reason you get lucky then cool but if not you won't have your dreams crushed!
It is not so much as the schedule I am mainly looking for who is the better companies and who should I run far away from I didnt mean to get someone who had their panties in a knot
If you were looking @ suggestions for companies, then that is what you should have asked. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people turning to trucking recently without doing ANY research, then when it doesn't live up to their expectations, they drop out. Out of a class of 13, I am the only one that is still with the compant that trained us. A couple dropped out before finishing OTR training, a few more went on to other trucking companies within the first year, and about 4-5 decided that trucking was not for them.
Incredible driver, yes you are now among the chosen,ha ha!! Perfect post, but still won't get it to where they'll really know if its right for them. Out on road, sleeping in a cab day in and out sucks for many and if the job is also crap, then another possible good driver may be lost.
Hey have you checked out Roehl? We have the best home-time for otr. The even have a 7on-7off if that interest you, or 10-14 for 3. Let me know if you have any question.
I have done research I was just wanting a little friendly advise but I have had several companies calling me this week
Easy with your comments! You wanted advice and it was given to you. A simple thanks will do just fine next time if you want a response to your future questions.
