You know it's sad.....I love this industry, but all these new regualtions they keep shoving down our throats every time we turn around is going to make safe, professional drivers like myself, say enough and is enough, and find a new profession. I might make less money, but at least I won't have some beaurcrat in D.C. micro managing me.

Exactly. Even if I were able to come back to the industry I don't think I would want to at this point. I drove under the old HOS, hate the new ones, hate the proposed changes, and speed limiters? Not a snowball's chance in Hades. I drove for a couple of outfits that had governed trucks and hated it. I'm not a speed demon, but I like to be able to at least do the speed limit!

I can just imagine the mess that will create in states that have 70 mph speed limits, because we know darn well they will want to neuter the trucks at 65. Maybe they should put the dang things on cars too. There's no need for cars to be able to go 80 or 90 either.:biggrin_25513:

The 4 wheelers hate trucks now, just wait until all trucks are governed at the same speed and what a rolling traffic jam that will cause. Hey 4 wheller don't flip me off flip of your Govt..

I feel that way now. The future for truck driving seems glum (for me at least). Low pay, no real future if you decide to drive 'till you drop, more proposed regulations and laws every other year, the failing health conditions later on down the line, etc. Not to mention all of the new drivers that are happy making chump change just to be able to leave their families behind and drive OTR.

Well, aside from electronic interference placed at the point of a guv'mint gun or company policy, I already have a speed limiter. It's called my right foot.

That's not good enough. We need big brother to protect you from yourself. I mean I have no speed limiter and I consistently drive 100mph+, so something should be done to stop me.:biggrin_2559:

Do you think they'll also try to put speed limiters on video games so you can't even speed on TV?:biggrin_25523: Because you can never be too save!:biggrin_2559:
