Ive never had franks or nicks, called both and they refuse to make an 18 double wide boot. Never actully had boots that fit right honestly. Mostly i buy whatever i can get in 18EE and hope its pretty close. Its a rare thing indeed when i buy a brand that keeps the same design of boot for 2 years in a row. Most of the time the "almost fits" boots i get last at most a year and usually rin $300-400 if i dont get cheap chineseium child sweatshop grade junk.

I have 2 pairs of redwings, I hate the breaking in part about them, anyways, I just my original one resole with Vibram soles for the second time. I cure/treat the leather at least twice a week or so.

I would love to get me a pair of Wesco Morrison's. I'm just to lazy to lace boots up every time I put them on and off.

I feel your pain.
My wife and her sister are crafters. Wife sews and crotchets, her sister makes quilts. They both put a ton of work into what they do. My sister in law, with the quilts she does, their on the expensive side but well worth it. My time isn't free, I shouldn't expect others to be free either when it comes to a good quality handmade product.
Good quilts go for big bucks. An they are worth every penny. At lest the ones I have are. I know some of you are going "Seriously? Big money for a quilt? like a blanket? WTF dude.". An I used to think the same way to till I saw what goes into making one. It's not easy or quick to do via hand. Add in a custom design, the size, etc etc etc. I've yet to find a cheap store quilt that rivals a good handmade one. I do know, I will do my best to stay on my Sister in law's good side, so i keep getting quilts at Christmas.
I got a buddy who works with wood. Some real skill. People ask for custom things, high detail, etc. Yet they want cheap prices. Dude will put in 80 hours easily on one project depending on size, detail, etc, etc.
So next time someone gives you a handmade quilt, baby blanket, afghan, etc. Be sure to thank them, they must like you a lot.
Sirscrapntruckalot - If your married to someone who sews or similar...you've been there.
snowman1980, REO6205, D.Tibbitt and 2 others Thank this. -
