Couldn't agree more. Did my time and cut it short actually because I was expected to kill myself. Made a commitment 9-1/2 years ago to not drive tired for anyone again, and I haven't. Neither has anyone I've trained in this trade. It's a simple matter of knowing your own natural rhythms and working within them, someplace where driver safety is a priority. Not all starter companies are evil.

Back when I drove full time, I was a heavy smoker so the cancer sticks would keep me awake. Every time I'd feel sleepy I 'd light up. Worked for me... That and putting on the AC while wearing shorts!
I would sometimes pop a Vivarin (caffeine pills) just 'cause i didn't want to drink coffee. They worked a bit, but I couldn't sleep for a day after taking them. (I have a very low tolerance to caffeine)
I would wholly recommend power naps!
