I prefer to drive at night and will put myself on a night schedule if I can. Less traffic, especially in major cities, and less truck traffic on the passes are my main reasons. During the winter the roads are worse during the night but that's the price you pay.
I also like having my choice of parking in the morning. -

I split the difference.... 2 am to 2 pm. Easy parking, no waiting on showers, light traffic in early mornings.

when I started at my present job I had to run nights due to senoirity..now after 14 years I could have days and weekends off but I am here to make money so I stay with a 2300 start..I usually work 2300-1230...make way better money than the guys with daystart times 0500-1000..I have about 7 hours of peaceful easy nonstop running till others hit the road...if your out to make money run at night, sleep in the day..if your out to be a tourist and make little money work days sleep at night....
