Ive been with swift few years now and I still cant figure out why we cant get a straight answer out of these people.
I mean if they are there to help out... help out, dont just answer my questions with nonsence replys.
if i ask them a question about a load, a simp,e one, i get a run around and we end up with me hanging up more confused, my answers not answered and still left wondering about the load.

whats the point of having these zombies on the phones when all they do is play farmville, sleep at their desk and not answer the simplest of questions..?
its almost like i dont want to accept any preplans on the weekend as im in fear of the ol mighty svc failure or given wrong info..

I am still sitting here in Hooks waiting for a repower. Turns out, last night someone dropped the ball big time. Just now heard that Lancaster is working on the problem, when it should have already been settled. I think that they are looking at when this load finals in NJ, 3/6, still about 1300 miles from here, and that there is still plenty of time to get it there.

my point exactly.. how come these people arent able to do the job they were hired for....?
Swift is to darn worried about beating up the drivers for certain things, rather than looking internally at the real problems.
    /sigh.. im getting frustrated here.

That's the problem too many times too... They shouldn't be sitting there looking at del time and saying that there's plenty of time...they should repower the load ASAP so that the driver receiving the load has ample time to make it on time and still have room to account for any delays in route..

this practice that these co's continue to do just baffles me..especially when they jump on drivers for not trip planning.

True, how many trucks do you think that were sitting in Lancaster last night without a load, that they could have b/t here, and been here and gone already. Wait, I just remembered, problem with QualComm last night with updating, so that is a good excuse for not doing the job. Give me a break!!!!!!!!!

You want to know the worse, I have been broke down since 2000 last night, and they just now took the load off me, well at least as far as the t-call. I am wondering if they are thinking that I can get the truck fixed and still complete the load. Nope, not happening. You know as well as me, we can not predict how long it will take to fix once I get to KW here.

KW in Texarkana. The DEF needs servicing. I was going to try and get to the KW in Little Rock, until KW in Denver last night advised me against it. At least, per Road Breakdown, it is a warranty issue. Should not need servicing for at least another 20K miles. I swear that this truck was built on a Monday. I do not even know what is involved in servicing or how long it takes. NOx Quality exceed due to quality. engine derated. SCR/DEF service required.

I was a DM in Phoenix on nights/weekends for 3 miserable months and I can tell you their arms are cut off and their stripped from all decision making on that shift. They know almost nothing about the loads and have little to no power to do anything. Their there just to answer phones.

I can tell you that when I was there.. there were NO former drivers but me on the DM side (never having worked for swift tho) and only 1 in customer service who was actually a former swift driver who transferred inside. We did our best to help the drivers from a drivers point of view.. but even then there was little we could actually do in the respect of loads and customers... delivery times, swaps, etc. There were times we could pursuade the planners to do things... but then all of us received lashing daily from days. Days wanted us to do nothing until they came in. If the ECT's can't help you I don't know why they didn't just tell you that. I DID try and correct that with the new people coming.. telling them not to lie or leave drivers hanging because it makes matters worse when your sitting there waiting for a response or, better yet, receive a response that is far from helpful. Ultimately I left becausee the capability to use my experience and help drivers didn't matter and I returned to driving where I could be miserable in peace.. lol. That was the most excruciating experience i'd ever had in my transportation career.

On a side note, ECT turnover is almost as bad as the driver turnover.

**Edit -- my time was spent there during the summer of 2010 (May-Aug) so Im not sure how things are run or organized these days.

The qualcom outage last night started at midnight Texas time and was over in less than an hour. That is not an excuse to have left squeak hanging in Hooks. He was dealing with ECT out of Memphis, however... they are a nightmare on a good night!
