Yes they have been tested under load... That's the point. The one I know actually cleans up even slightly more when under heavy load once both the turbos spool.

Speaking of tests...We are all aware that the 2017 Glider Tests conducted by the EPA, were conducted with Gliders provided by Volvo and brand new trucks...provided by Volvo. Oh and that the tests were called for and pushed through at the request of Volvo....and EPA officials that had departed the Agency and violated separation requirements with private industry......Funny how real world tests performed by those on this forum show different results....

All of that for the good of the environment? OR a manufacturer who was not a player in the Glider market and was watching Paccar and Freightliner see their sales increasing......

Or maybe the members of a random trucking forum are mistaken.

What's possible is irrelevant. It's the law.

A bigger," What are you thinking?" Is trying to sell it on the open market.

When I was 10 my Dad took me aside and said," I don't care what you do as long as you never do drugs and don't ever bring the police back here."

When we were in airmen school our introduction to The Uniform Code of Military Justice went like this-

    From 1st class petty officer-
" UCMJ. I personally don't care what you do. Nor do most other people. You can rape, pillage, and plunder. Whoa be tide you if you get caught."

I bet no one can find a law that specifically states an engine requires a DPF, EGR and SCR. The law just outlines allowable emissions, how the manufacturer chooses to meet the target is up to them.

Not thinking my friend. Blindly following technology. If you want to knock others here and promote engines that everyone knows can't hold a candle to prior offerings, then be my guest.

Guys in this industry are actively looking for 20+ year old trucks to make a living with. This is for a host of reasons, emission engines being one of them. 20 plus year old technology is being hunted. Do you hear anyone looking for a 20 year old computer and wanting to run Windows 98 on it??? Think about that for a second.

Emission engines have not been and are not the answer for pollution. Nor have they made trucks better or maintenance less of an issue.

Is JD working on an engine that doesn't require DEF but meets standards? I can't remember the exact conversation I overheard that focused on a newer Forage Harvester.

It is telling that sketchy tests, pushed for by a manufacturer on the outs and conducted by GOV employees acting rougje and in unison, was completely blown by in your response.
