Be proactive, call the safety dept and tell them you didn't want to refuse the load, but your dispatcher wouldn't route you into a shop/terminal. Get ahead of your dispatcher and CYA.

Yes it works, but I don’t have an APU and it stops idling after the outside temp reaches 75 degrees, but it gets anywhere from 80 to 90 degrees in here and I’m done being taken for a ride by my dispatcher; he knows #### well I need to get to Nashville and he’s trying to send me all the way to Colorado; I’m assuming from Colorado I’m going to Nashville, but that could just be a ploy

I left the head of the safety department a message because he didn’t answer the phone

I talked to the one stand up guy I know at Western and he said he’s gonna contact the guy who’s in charge of situations like this and he told me I’m doing the right thing basically; do I say anything to my dispatcher at this point? He’s responding with, “Just get it picked up” and now he just said “We’ll swap with someone going to Tennessee”, I don’t know if I should pick it up or not now that he said this; should I just wait until tomorrow?

I would get it fixed. Unless you got a way run it, I would do a fire extinguisher, I have done it. But it's July 4th so it won't get fixed till Monday or Tuesday.

I don't want to tell you, anything that would jeopardize your job. If you cant sleep because the truck will not idle, I am sure you are fatigued, as you most likely have been getting little or no sleep. Explain that to you DM and ask him or her to put you up in a motel, for your 10 hour break. I suggest you do this in writing so there is a digital trail.

    D.Tibbitt and farmerjohn64 Thank this.

If you use a fire extinguisher. Put that on top then a shoe underneath. So it doesn't over rev , to fix the throttle..
