Do not move a inch without a BOL. Im assuming you are sitting in a truckstop safely inside your parking spot. Find a fax machine at the fuel desk and have your company fax you the BOL for this load from shipper. Or somehow intercept stop the other driver who forgot to give it to you when handing you the trailer, that driver will have to turn around and drive to you and give you the BOL.
If this driver never got a BOL for this load he gave to you, then that driver probably will be fired and the Shipper/Customer might totally reject or refuse the undocumented load. If there is no BOL at all, this load does not exist and thererore cannot be presented by your company for payment of transit charges among other things.
No BOL

I've also hauled loads that were loaded and hauled with the "official" BOL provided at the receiving end.
Never know these days what sort of technology is being used in the shipping and billing process. All I know is you have to CYA if you get stopped along the way, which is what the blank generic BOL is for...to satisfy the LEO who asks for it if you get stopped along the way. It gives you something indicating that yes, you have a load...and that you picked it up somewhere and it is going somewhere.QuietStorm, BUMBACLADWAR, Big Don and 1 other person Thank this. -
I scare myself being so old and grouchy demanding a old traditional three sheet carbon copy of a stamped, signed and dated BOL that is accurate to whatever is in that trailer.
Maybe there is a home for old truckers like me to pretend that the knowledge still is good for something. But you are absolutely correct, the technology today has many oppertunities, I carry my CHL electronically on my cell phone as a backup to the actual permit inside my wallet. Our state just recently started to allow cell phones or other digital device to hold copies of certain cards and documents as a work around to those who might not carry a physical copy in today's internet where people buy insurance with a couple of mouse clicks.
have a great day, sir. Again I appreciate the reminder, correction.Grubby, Big Don, austinmike and 1 other person Thank this. -
It would suck to hit an inspection station or point of entry without bol..Ive ran a load without one, but why add any extra stress to your job?
IluvCATS Thanks this. -
I have hauled a few double blind loads....no BOL.
Like the other guys have said just fill in a blank one from the truck stop.....Ride on! -
There is, it's called the dinner counter -
Those are the loads the customer resales while truck is in route to him, then gets rerouted to new buyer. If that guy doesn't resale it in route. They don't want bol shown because it will show what the first guy paid. Then the other guy could call them up and say I want load for what A was paying.
rank Thanks this. -
EZ Money Thanks this.

Might as well Just sell the load at the truck stop then who's to say you even picked it up??***
Grubby, MANBEAR, Gunner75 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I have had those loads where the broker tells you not to let the receiver know where you picked the load up..
Happens pretty often in the perishable food business..I pulled several loads of eggs like that and frozen chicken....If the shipper gave me a BOL the broker said to destroy it when I get there...
It almost sounds like some shady stuff going on.MachoCyclone, Big Don, Toomanybikes and 2 others Thank this.
