Hello everyone, quick question and hopefully I can get an answer. The company I work for (not going to put a name out) does not have bunk heaters on their trucks nor do they allow idling. Is there a law in place against such practices? We as truckers are held accountable for everything that we do on the road and I’d figure for the safety of the motoring public that the powers that be would want us getting the sleep that we need, but I find it hard as I’m sure a lot of people do also to get get sleep when you’re freezing your ### off. Again I’d appreciate insight to this, thanks and stay safe out there

mhyn Thanks this. -
No laws. What does they don't allow idling mean?
Is it turned off in the ECM where you can NOT idle. If not idle anyway.
Find a different company.. This is something you should have known before. -
For many years I slept without idling truck. My choice.
If I was you, I would be looking for a different employer.
I don't know about any laws to protect a driver. Plenty to protect an animal.
Might be time to aquire a "pet for emotional support"
Good luck. -

Instead of a convoluted hack that may or may not burn the truck down with you in it...
Just quit and go to a company that treats you like a human.hagarcobra, magoo68, WildTiger1990 and 3 others Thank this. -

#### right go somewhere that has a bunk heater or lets you idle truck! If they are so worried about wasted fuel, environment, are engine wear; then they should buy a APU.
driverdriver Thanks this.
