No contact lenses for tanker drivers?

    No! I was not trying to pick a fight. I was just trying to point out an axiom about life in general. Most people don't need rules like this because they know who gets hurt in the end, that was all. Trust me I am in full agreement with your point.

    Considering that you've only got 2 eyes and they don't repair themselves, I'd forgo the contacts. And like one of the guys said, the contacts can potentially melt to the eye. But those are your eyes...to me safety prescription glasses would be a smart choice. Do you plan on "seeing" your grandchildren?

    I wore contacts for 40 years until I got lasik. It's worth every penny. It's not usually tax deductible but if your employer offers a flexible spending account in your medical benefits you can allow for it in your 2016 withholding and pay for it with pre-tax dollars spread out over a year's worth of paychecks.

    the EPA and state agencies have cleaned up things BUT that doesn't mean accidental releases can't occur. I never took a driver to the ER that USED his safety gear...
