2013 FREIGHTLINER CASCADIA DD13. Starter was dragging. Grandson replaced with new one. Truck will start only if you put jumper to small terminal on top of the solenoid located on top of new starter just like old starter had. We have installed new ignition switch, new batteries, jumped clutch switch, checked every fuse that I know of, including the 7.5 fuse in the SAM CAB and changed out the two relays in the SAM CAB. When you turn the key to start position you can hear the relays click but no power to solenoid. Can anyone tell me where the signal wire from the top of the starter solenoid goes to?
    Thanks in advance

Did the old starter have a overheat 2 wire sensor plug into it, if the two wires arent pluged into new starter it will not spin over? If you find the plug in that did go into the starter overheat sensor you can make a wire to plug into the two push on holes in it, but look on fire wall for another starter solenold?

Follow that starter trigger wire backwards from starter. You will have to cut open tape and loom. You will only have to go less that 3 feet. I have found the trigger wire broken in this area at least 10 times on a Cascadia. Zip ties too tight is what causes it.

Mine did the same thing a couple of weeks after I replaced the starter. I hadn't gotten the main hot lead tight enough and it shook loose. DD starters are a real PITA to replace and I was afraid of over tightening the nut.

The old starter did have the two wire sensor and the new one has the same. It is plugged in. My son got tired of messing with the truck and has taking it to a repair shop.
    Tks

I’m guessing he did the same as I did, got one of the little wires hooked up wrong. Easy to do. Even took a picture, and had them tied together. Still ? Go figure.

Baha, I guess I lied about the sensor wire being plugged in. It was not. Guy plugged it in and the problem is fixed. My Grandson thought he plugged it in but he did not. Thanks to every one for there input.
