My Jake brake never works but since I never use it here in flat south Texas I don't mind. But my cruise control was working fine.
Now it'll work then I switch it off and it stops working when I want to turn it back on. 1-30 mins later it'll start working again. And it'll be like that all day.
Anyone know what might be going on with it? Works on and off all day.
No engine brake and cruise control.

But based on what you’ve mentioned, and assuming everything thing else is working. Sounds like the park brake pressure switch maybe stuck. Without more info, that’s the best guess -
Thanks for the reply. It's a 2006 Kenworth T600 and the engine brake has never worked since I bought the truck back in January but since its super flat out here in south Texas.
I don't mind but now suddenly the cruise control started acting up. -
I have never worked on the dash of a KW, so I’m still guessing the park brake switch. In freightliners it’s mounted near the park brake valve in the dash it’s its one of the three. They use it to tell the ECM when the park brake is set. This changes the cruise control to an idle or PTO governor. And if your jake hasn’t been working but your cruise has, it maybe because this switch is stuck. But i’m Not sure.
What’s engine are you cruising in?? Maybe if it’s listed out you’ll catch the eye of one who knows. -
Cat C15 Acert mxs. I'll pull down the dash panel to see if anything is loose or something.

My cascadia has issues with the cc and jake working most of the tjme but from time to time they both quit working. Sometimes it will come back sometimes it takes awhile sometimes if you tap the clutch a few times it will start working again. Any thoughts on what is causing this?

If ithe springs good. The switch is probably bad or just mis aligned. I’ve replaced a few over the years, same symptoms. New ones come with spacers ( washers ) for a good adjustment.
