    i would make them run me on flat roads. no jakes = me not driving down any grade at all. just my opinion.

    Probably saved a few hundred a truck on purchase price. Does not seem worth it to me. Engine brakes should be mandatory on class 7+8 trucks.

    I agree totally they should be standard, they save lives, in Spain retarders are mandatory, should be that way everywhere

    at my last job(cement tanker) none of our trucks had jakes and we ran right at 80000. we stayed in KS and MO so not to many hills

    texas is pretty flat LOL.. If your going in the big hills you will need one.

    I ran for Corn Flakes hauling trains in the mountains without one. Smoked them everyday off Mt.Hood. Guys would be on the radio yeah CF your hot! Ok boys thanks. After awhile you can get use to almost anything. Would I run without one now,only in the flatlands........
