Be wary of some of the trucking co outfits up there. Lots of foreign owned 1099 driver jobs. Not who you want to drive for.

Btw, women seem to do very well at running truck. Y'all are good at detail oriented stuff. I would even suggest running refrigerated freight. Theres better money in it because its slightly more specialized.

 

If you notice the overpasses on the Oasis'. I've seen banners advertising for some major good companies. Old Dominion, JB Hunt, others...
Chicago area is a good place for trucking. Major good place.

 

Well, you’ve already made a good decision by entering private school rather than company sponsored.

Just don’t be afraid to ask ANY question.

you’re as much a client/customer as you are a student at a private school. If you have prob with an instructor goto the program director and get it sorted out.

PROTIP: After they told me I had 30 min every time it was my turn on the backing pad, I started keeping a cheap digital oven timer in my pocket.

I kept getting cheated on the backing and parallel park course.
I got it down to less than 5 minutes.
So I got in trouble for treating it like a race track.
But I did set a record. Told them I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

 

You can do it. Geez, just think about all the stuff you've already done in your life. Driving a machine from point A to B is a walk in the park compared to it.
Stop doubting the future. Take strength from what the past has taught you.

 

Look at it this way...
Drive in Ca. You hit an animal. Road Kill. You're allowed to eat it! Ain't that the greatest bonus?!

 

Someone on here said something to the effect of: "go to the fuel island at a truck stop and watch the drivers going in and out. If they can do it, so can you"
