Grats on expanding your operation Bill! With all that chaining and tarping action, I'm thinking that flatbed will look better hooked to the other guy's wagon when he's not pulling the hopper LOL.

    BigJohn54 Thanks this.

Hey, no bagging on my 780. I like floating down the highway.

On 69/75S from OK to TX today just getting beat-up. Pulled into TS to use the facilities and guy fueling up says "hate the looks of those things but on these roads I could almost stomach one". Not sure if I was being insulted or complimented.

Absolutely nothing to do with your choice of trucks. IMO, the best FB load securement is the one you're watching while you try not to break a fingernail closing your van doors.

Speaking of smooth rides, with the new airbags under the cab and the level valve working properly, our Century was gliding over the ruts on the west side of ATL on 285 almost as good as a Volvo would.

At 8 mph just about anything would be smooth. :biggrin_2559:
I hear on the difference in work. 108 yesterday in OK/TX and soaked doing my post trip.

Good to see ya guys, been a while.

    Congrats on the FB!

    Quick update.

You guys considering starting out, take the amount of money you think your going to need and multiply it by X5. If i had not had emergency credit line, I would be here crying instead of sobbing a little bit.

Heres a heartbreak story - After putting a brand new virgin rubber trailer tire on my trailer, some ####### backs in to my flatbed and tears my tire up. Tire had .5 miles on it. 500 dollar problem just went north of 1k. Hit and run.

Picked up my first direct customer few weeks ago, rates are fantastic and the runs are good. The old pete has been getting most of the profit, shes almost back to factory conditions, well working most of the rough spots out, anyway:biggrin_25525: The 3406B is a work horse and im glad I went with that old school powerplant.

    Anyway...take care all

RedForeman, BigJohn54 and BigBadBill Thank this.
