Speaking of switching terminals, could I, living in NE Wisconsin switch from Menasha to, say Edwardsville, KS? I've always wanted to run going west and maybe if I'm out of Edwardsville I can pick the comfort zone that's geared more to the west.

For example, picked up this truck in Greer, SC, nobody mentions to me that it needed a B-service. After I got home for mother's day weekend I got a call Friday saying oh, why didn't you get the B-service done? First I've heard of it. She said she sent it to my qualcomm, even though I never got a message about it. She knows I have issues with the qualcomm since I'm constantly calling in for dispatch information when my qualcomm freezes up and have to have addresses, BOL numbers, and directions spoken to me over the phone.

So now I'm sitting in Columbus, again since I had to take it to a shop that deals with newer qualcomms since I'm having issues with that, when this should have been done in Greer when I picked this truck up 3 weeks ago(the B-service, the qualcomm issue reared its head after I was out of Greer) . I'm just waiting in the shop now to get the park springs on my brake cylinders fixed which they found during the B-service, then they'll look at the qualcomm.

Its not "talk" grasshopper. You can count on reasonably consistant slow freight at the beginning of a quarter (because everyone shipped everything they could to get it on last quarter's books,) and at the beginning of the month - same deal. Bean counters need to get the books looking good to make their bonus.

You can count on freight picking up at the end of quarters, months, and before holidays. Especially the winter holidays - count on things being slow in January and February while folks sell-off their overstock.

When agricultural products start needing to be shipped, there will be a shortage of capacity on the reefer side, which will take some of the competition off of you guys for dry van freight. Things will pick up.

People buy products - and you're providing a service. Your service isn't needed if people aren't buying - consequently trucking isn't a constant thing. Make sure you have some cash in the bank to cover the slow times...

Shakes head... are we not an adult and have the ability to walk/call a taxi or find a means of survival on our own?

I would have asked for his phone right when I got there and found myself some place to stay, yet you find the time to #####/rant about your ordeal.. Did you not read the memo/paper work given to you stating youll need atleast $350 on your mentoring training?? guess not..

I dont feel sorry for you, you should have sucked it up and did something about it, rather that acting like a dog sleeping in a driveway, pissing in your coke bottle and expecting someone else to take care of you... :biggrin_25513:

AzHammer, did you READ the posts? It started out bad but he stuck it out to get through it, got the help he needed, talked to the people he needed to talk to, and he is now out on the road ON HIS OWN and doing pretty #### good. He knew it was bad and was down on his luck but he pushed through it and is in a better spot now.

This thread took me several days to read through. Since I will be going through training with Swift in the next coming weeks it has given me the info I need, and what to do if the "worst case scenario" is forced on me. It was a great adventure and showed that you hang in there until the end. Most important of all is I will back several bottles of fabreze with me in case my trainer is hygiene challenged.

I'd use Fabreze, but I'm so allergic to it that I'm miserable for weeks after spraying the stuff. It does work well, though.

Three-axle allignment in the morning then off to SLC.

Hi LadyTrucker; Having done animal rescue work for years just thought I would suggest you try a product called "Simple Solution". It is only available at pet stores but it has enzymes that actually break down the bacteria in puppy pee-pee and keeps the pup from instinctively going back to the same spot. I can't use febreeze either and the product above leaves you with no pet odor. Good luck with your little critter!

Lokix, CertifiedSweetie and AZS Thank this.
