Oh piss on their contract! They cannot stop you from working, no matter what they told you in orientation. The other major carriers know what CRST is like. If your record is clean, and you meet the other qualifications, there is no reason why Schnieder or Wel wouldn't be willing to hire you. The only issue is the lack of that magic one year of experience. You may have to go out with a trainer for a bit, but the money will be much better than you would ever see the old Crash & Roll Stunt Team.
I actually considered joining CRST for the express purpose of quitting while under contract just to watch them try to collect from me. Since I live in a Commonwealth, it is all but impossible for an out of state creditor to bring legal action against someone here for outstanding debts. I just feel it would be fair to screw CRST as hard as they have screwed countless other drivers.

You still don't burn bridges.
People do have choices when it does come to training. Some are worse than others and one needs to do their homework. Throw them shiny over glorified ads out the window and talk with drivers in person or on forums before one makes a decision. -
I wouldn't abandon equipment or quit under a load, but otherwise burn every bridge that leads you back to slaving away for CRST. You as a driver deserve better!

This thread appears to be the blind leading the blind. Good luck with that. I'd never tell anyone where to go as a student much less my first 6 months with a company.

From CRST advertisment, I was under the impression that they preferred a person to get their hazmat during the actual classes at the CRST school before ever hitting the road, although they do state at the very least 60 dys. after first dispatch. Did you not have the option? My classes start with them in Jan.
