This is kinda off topic, but am I the only one that still flashes her lights on and off, after passing a cop; but as I approach a rig coming at me from the opposite direction? Believe it or not, I was taught that was acceptable from a driving school, when I was 17 in New Jersey.
No more flashing!

You mean as in a warning to oncoming traffic, signaling their is a "bear"
and to slow down ?
Some states its illegal to do this,Ive always done it if I cant get to the radio and or in a State like Oh,Va etc where I warn everyone for at least a mile or two.

If it's a speed trap, I'll warn everyone for as long as I deem it feasible, but here again, just a "blip" of the lever, no real brights at night.
Largo: Why hold back? Tell us how you really feel! -
Illegal or not, if there's another cop further along that sees you doing it, he'll come after you for it. They don't like that much. -
I am beginning to think it must be.
Yesterday, I flashed my headlites (to indicate that a passing truck had cleared me, and it was safe to come back over) at least a hundred times, and got, maybe, 3 or 4 responses. CB was on, too, so no verbal thanks that I missed.
I guess it must be against the law, huh? -

If you had flashed your bright headlights at me after dark, I would not have acknowledged you. I don't think it is appropriate to thank somebody for blinding me with their bright lights.
If it was done during the daylight hours, I would have flashed my markers in thanks. I don't flash brights during dark hours, I flash my headlights on/off, on/off, really quick. Same message, no stabbing pains to the drivers eyes. -
Yeah, brights suck at night. That's why I have my mirrors set a bit off so I have to duck my head a little to see behind me. I flash the markers at night and the 4 ways during the day.

danger in front of them and how I do this is my choice! If they have a motorist pulled over on the side of the road then they are a hazard too. Wouldn't you want to know about a hazard in the road before you get there?
To be forewarned is to be forearmed.
