Sorry Sir, you may be a real nice guy etc, but to me you are just another idiot who gives us all a bad name. May you get truly nailed the next time you do it,

    Thanks Ron!
I ended up with a couple of small crates and some stuff on custom pallets. To be honest, not a clue what it is as it's all wrapped up! Bills make no sense neither, unless you know model numbers of blah blah blah that is..
I did notice that a couple of my 16x24's are looking very sad indeed though. Dont know if it would be worthwhile getting them fixed even.....

I had to have my original 3 tarps patched and it was $250 but they used 3 yards of material as one was in really and shape.

we hauled 2 generators out to Long Island 3yrs ago. were 25'L x 12W x 13.6T the day before we get to GW, I called dispatch to ask if they lined up the cops. "No, you dont need any cops" right on permit "need cops for Nassua county for night" no...you dont need them. OK. so, other driver calls....same thing, Ya got the cops? dont need 'em. did the whole wait at Gw bridge thing, escorts down 3rd ave...ect. headin out the LIE and about 3 miles from gettin OUT of Nassau cnty when we got jumped. long story short, cost our company $3750 PER truck cause or dispatch was an effin moron. and YES, I get permits EVERYWHERE i go. $20-40 is peanuts compared to some of the fines

I know how to move freight and make a good profit out of it without having a paper tell me how to do it or give me permission. I've never had an accident driving anything in my life. Some of these drivers out here might give truck drivers a bad name, but not me, I get it done. Ha, I'll let you know when I get nailed, keep on trucking!

Its the cost of doing business. If you (like me) haul oversized everywhere you ever go, you would be broke and could spend months going 100 miles with a 16' wide load. Do you think I order a city permit when I have to off/on a ramp because Im tall? Going from San Diego to Santa Barbara @ 17' tall I would need about 50 separate city permits and pay an average of $25 each everytime I jump a ramp. $25 to cross the street in your city when I weigh 60,000 gross!!!! No. I will take the chance. How does that make everyone else look bad?

I've been at it over 20yrs, and been rear ended twice by 4 wheelers. First thing the cops asked me? Can I see your permit please.
I also got pulled over after leaving Cat in Aurora,IL by a Sheriff. He wasn't aware we were routed different due to construction. What he asked? You guessed it, permit please.
Been asked for permits too many times over the past 20+ years to take a chance without one due to laziness etc. If you can't afford to do it right, then don't do it.
The piece of paper, as you call it, is not telling you how to make a profit, that is ridiculous. The permit covers your rear in case of anything that happens, which could well be totally out of your control regardless of how good a driver you are.

Ever notice how permits are ALWAYS cheaper than tickets?

Glad you "get it done" ..... so does a dog trying to hump a lawnmower... doesn't mean it is done right.

Keep patting yourself on the back for blantly disobeying the rules of the job and eventually karma will come back to bite ya in the butt. You must be running on some very tight budgets if you can't afford the permits... or are you just too lazy to get them?? I bet it is BOTH of those answers... but hey, keep on truckin'
